This just popped up on the random gallery box at the top of the page and, by a happy coincidence, I was leafing through a box of old prints today and came across the original It was shot at my nephews christening, back in 2009 I think.

And this was from the same day, photo of the print taken with my phone this afternoon.

My Mum with nephew, my Dad with my oldest, my wife, brother (number 4 of 4!) and one of his friends.

Exa + Meritar 2.9/50 + Kentmere 100, printed on Arista EDU VC FB.

I've had a moldy Meritar sitting in a box for several years now, but it's never been on my to-do list because it's just a Meritar. Finally decided I may as well try cleaning it or else put it on ebay for 50 cents. The mold is gone, but the coating on the inner element was etched by the fungus on one surface. Whether this really makes a difference or not, I can't say. These lenses are always a little "glowy" even in mint condition.

This is so nice.

Reminds me of what a great friend of mine, and a great photographer, once told me, “just take pictures of what you care about”. I’m not 100% compliant to this, but when I remember to do it, it feels great.
