Books are a fetish for me, I’ve been reading since I was five years old; when I was a child, they wrote an article about me in the regional children’s newspaper, as about the most active reader.)))
And then a couple of years ago (after 50 years of reading))) I suddenly learned that many readers in the process of reading do not associate themselves with either the main character or the author - this shocked me and very, very surprised.

I've always felt books were almost sacred objects, to be treasured. I don't recall throwing out any books. I've always donated them if I was through with them. My wife thinks I should get rid of most of my photography library but I've been resistant to that. As I get older, I may have to rethink it and donate some of them to a local charity's annual book sale to help support a local private college. But many are valuable and/or important to me. We'll see how things evolve.
