Thanks! It was unstaged. I happened to walk by this pizzeria in Florence while I attended an international statistics meeting there.

In the mid-70s I did a lot of traveling around the Australian Alps. In winter I skied, but in other seasons I camped in my van wherever I could find a pretty camp spot, and hiked to take wilderness photos. This photo of the main range of the Snowy Mountains was taken early morning from The Pinnacle, the highest point of the Mt Buffalo plateau which stands separate from the main range. I had an OM1 and for this used the Zuiko 200mm f/4, on Kodachrome 25. I remember it was cold, just a few degrees C with a bit of light wind.

In the 1970s I was a volunteer surf lifesaver in my local Surf Life Saving Club in Sydney. Besides being a lifesaver I was also the club’s photographer and publicity officer, taking pictures at club events including inter-club competitions.
Every year at the end of summer surf clubs around Australia compete in the National Surf Titles of Surf Life Saving Australia. These are very large events with thousands of competitors, hosted at a different beach every year. A party atmosphere prevails over the days of the event as club members from around Australia consume large quantities of beer to dissect the day’s results and relax before competing the next day.
The most exciting event is usually the surf boat races, where traditional 5-crew rescue boats (4 oarsmen and a sweep) have to row out through the waves, round a marker and then catch a wave back to the finish line. In big surf these events are both exciting and dangerous.
In between races the surf boats are left on the beach in preparation for the next race.
I took this picture at the National Titles in 1978 at Kingscliff beach in northern NSW near the Queensland border. It was around lunch time and one of the social members was having a nap against one of our club's surf boats, built in traditional timber (in later years they would be built in fibreglass). I noticed the boat crew in the background and quickly grabbed my OM1, changing lenses to the Zuiko 200mm f/4. I took a few frames on Kodachrome 25… this is the best one. I shot it wide open at f/4 to slightly defocus the boat crew.

My youngest daughter’s cat in 2013 playing with a paper shopping bag. She brings us much joy. She is affectionate and also quite mischievous. Sequence with a Nikon 1 V1.

Did you develop these yourself or lab? Nevertheless, the color pallette on these is quite nice. 👍A couple images I like from a recently developed film.
