There is something, for me, more than mildly disturbing about small human simulacra. This is both perfectly weird and nearly perfectly horrific. In the sense that has all the qualities of a bad dream, it is perfectly Kafkaesque. This one is also disturbing

As for that doll hospital, I’ll know where to avoid next time I’m in Lisbon. Far out.

There is that subtle uneasiness that almost raise the hackles on the back of one's neck. A seated doll abandoned on a beach?! WTF?! it is all just slightly out of kilter. It is a classic, "What's wrong with this picture?" shot, woohoo.

Concerning the Doll Hospital, I uploaded the most creepy photos. In a visit it is quite interesting, They exist since 1830, and the few ladies who work there repair a variety of dolls, toys, doll's clothes, etc.
Hmmm thinking of it, maybe they have an hidden chamber where they repair vodoo dolls....

Bless those ladies and their work, no doubt many collectors and maybe even small children are grateful for their good work. But I would genuinely find it hard to go there. Creepy.

Or maybe they turn little children into play dolls. Who's to know?
