I thought that too. The Kalbeliya I photographed in Rajasthan are Roma, ancestral ones who never emigrated.What a great thread. Thanks to the OP for starting it. Looking forward to seeing more.

And, as the recent internet craze indicated, people think about the Roman empire a lot. I’m still thinking about the fall of Rome.
