"Zeiss Historical Society" what is up with this place? Is it just a closed club?

I posted this to the Facebook Zeiss Historical Society

"First post here, long-time collector and DIY repair. Figured to post shots of my older Zeiss lenses. Pre-war Biotar 5.8cm F2, domed aperture and 40mm threads for filters. I believe this one is from the first production batch, Exakta mount. I use my Canon Series VI filter holder and hood with this one. 5cm F1.5 Sonnar, v1- from the first batch of 100 lenses. This lens is in amazing condition. Zeiss quickly revised the optical formula. 5cm F3.5 Tessar, one of the first made in Contax mount."

The Admin Declined the post.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Is it some sort of closed club? I know they BANNED Chris from Skyllaney on their group. I guess I will be next to be banned from it.First_Batch_Lenses_1.jpgFirst_Batch_Lenses_2.jpg

As the post was declined- I figure they recognized the name and just do not want me on their group.
I'm in good company. I quit it. I'd rather do that instead of getting pissed off and getting banned.
you do a lot of conversion work from zeiss lenses to leica mount
the Contax is a beautiful camera but none made since 1960's
its good to see these older zeiss optics useful again

Too bad about that organization. They were not that way prior to facebook group when they still published in print. I would occasionally post on their bulletin board, too. Used to be a good group of folks.

@Sonnar Brian did you inquire of the admin(s) as to the reason?
The Admin declined my post, and did not approve of me sending messages to members. No way to send a message to them. I did try. I know from Chris that the Admin in this group is very closed minded. He posted results from reverse engineering "Coburg" lenses that showed machining linked them with Zeiss production. They banned him. This group seems nothing like the old Zeiss Historical Society. Maybe just some facebook people reviving the name.

Same here- I used to post on their Bulletin Board. Jerry Laderburg asked me to join that.

I was a member for a brief time (when I was still on Facebook), after having been invited by a friend for who I repaired and serviced a few Zeiss cameras/lenses
It felt like a very unfriendly place. I'd rather hang out with Mike Eckman on his Camerosity podcast/Discord.
