W/NW Self Portrait

If you've ever stumbled into a nesting area for terns, you'll know it's no joke! A hard hat, at least, is mandatory.
In season, sooty terns nest across the whole of Heron Island. They are everywhere. I walked through swarms of them daily when I was there. That's why I was writing about the knife.

I think I've posted this before but I couldn't find it in this thread. I tried cleaning it up a bit since it was a total crap scan from long ago.

From a little over 50 years ago with the "rat pack". That's me on the far left with a Gossen Super Pilot meter around my neck. Camera on a tripod, a Nikon F, using self timer. I haven't changed at all over the years. Except for the hair. And the waistline. And a few parts are now missing or have been replaced.

The last photo I took from my recent trip to Roswell, New Mexico. This was after a long day of shooting and several hours of unwinding later in the hotel room over a few drinks with my wife. The camera to the right is a Lumix L1 with the Leica 14-50 zoom. The camera to the left is a Ricoh GRIIIx, Urban Edition. The camera I am holding is a Lumix LX100.

This is with M9-P and the ZM 25 Biogon at minimum (uncoupled form RF) focus of 0.5m. ISO 640 and 1/8s at f2.8. The camera and lens and hood were propped on some music at one end of the upright piano. The distortion is much less then I expected, really just that amplified near nostril. My left eye is affected by a neurological injury, Horner's syndrome, causing a small pupil and a ptosed (droopy) eyelid. Fotunately due to wearing glasses from a young age, and my mother's skill with the same thing, I can add emphasis to an interaction with one or the other or both eyebrows raised.....
