The streets of Yokohama have gone to the dogs!
Thanks, no doubt, to Dogman's bad influence!

Nice dogs. And a truly impressive yacht in the distance...

I may be playing the devil's advocate here, but here goes.
Mister Y, what do you plan for your archive of images in the future?
You and also our good friend and valued contributor Erik from Holland, are two most original photographers.
To me they are most unique, and I for one believe they do need to be preserved.

DownUnder, your question is a pleasant surprise! I'll answer as best as I can.I may be playing the devil's advocate here, but here goes.

My archive is Google Photos, it's tied in with my Google Blog and G-mail account. I pay an annual fee for the storage space for all three; it's one of the very few things I do pay for. When I die and the fee isn't paid I guess that's the end of that... my images are gone, there is no back-up plan.
In Erik's case he's probably got it in his will that all his exquisite silver-gelato prints will go to some museum of art. They (the MOA) will be thrilled to get them and will put them on permanent display for all the world to enjoy.
While my stuff will just join me in the great unknown never to be seen again. If I was to ask my relatives if they'd like to inherit my archive of images they'd likely say they'd pass on the images and would rather inherit my money.
All the best

You could link the two. Much like the conditional trust I've ofttimes thought about leaving for our cats...
TBH I trust my SO who is even a greater cat lover than I am, so I've not taken any steps to do anything about that (at least not yet, it's safe to say this as SO has no interest in my photo site postings).
My current plan is to outlive all the felines.
But you do need to think about this. Allso your cameras. Who gets them, your spouse, your reps, or Cash Converters...

I've already started to thin out the camera herd. A few weeks ago I sold my Fuji X100V, X-S20, X-H1 and X-E4. I've also started selling some lenses that I've decided I don't really need. I turn 70 years old in a few months, I figure I've got about 15 more years of being an active photographer. By the time I'm no longer capable or interested in going out to take pictures I'll have sold everything. In the event of having an unexpected departure from the living, well, what happens to my shit after that is not my problem. If my wife is still around after I'm gone I trust her to do what's right.
My wife knows that I'd be lost without her so she has kindly promised to outlive me.
All the best,
Mike

Well-known
Mike,
While almost everyone in your photos is carrying a cell phone, what percentage of the people you see on these walks are taking photos as a serious or main objective, as you seem to? I guess what I am asking is whether someone with a camera taking street pictures is common?

I wouldn't say that street photographers are common, but I'm not the only person out and about with a camera hanging around the neck.
This picture is from yesterday.
