I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this big old Chevrolet rolling down the road in my direction. We never see this sort of classic car on the street in Yokohama.​

“May Be Early / Won’t Be Late”. Hot Rod Pizza was a perfectly named business here in Portland that actually used hot rods to deliver their pizza. I never tried them, but considering the low gas mileage of their delivery vehicles I suspect their delivery fees were on the high side. My apologies if I posted this one before (I did try searching for it first).

Unlike Hot Rod Pizza, Staccato Gelato is still around. Given the effort that went into this tribute car/marketing tool, I can only assume that the shop’s owner is quite fond of the Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE) Datsun’s of the early 70s.

Fuller’s Coffee Shop has been a Portland institution for many decades. The previous owner was a total car nut. Among the many cars he owned was this shortened Chevrolet Nomad, which like the Staccato Gelato car served as quite the marketing tool for his restaurant.

Mid-late 1980s 328 GTB I think. I did know someone who owned a 308GTB of the same era, and pity I didn't know how to drive stick at the time, because he offered to let me take a test drive! I recall the seats having no rake/recline adjustment.

Our dad had a ‘69 Galaxy 500 with a 390 cu.in. V8. Back then us kids thought it was a grownup’s car, but looking back on it now, I think Dad had some youth left in him!
