I built my new webpage last night to showcase my new work. It's done with Squarespace and I'm on my free 14-day trial. Before I commit to get the paid version, it would be cool to hear opinions how does the site look like, does it function correctly on your browser etc.

The site is www.puutela.com

All comments appreciated!

The site functions well for me (on Firefox), and you've got some very nice work in there. Bravo! 🙂

Excellent work! Your other sites are good as well.

The only comment is it seems sometimes some captions or photo descriptions/narratives appear momentarily on some photos then disappear as I scroll/click. Not sure if that is a problem on my side. I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

Great photos - I'm a fan of abstract photography. The site works well but as others have said it needs a bit more in the way of description and organization.

Works fine here, latest FF but it's a bit clinical for me, no seperation, needs some depth with colours and text.

I also don't like the transparency when looking at pics, don't want to see the site in the background.

Great photos! Websie looks good and is easy to navigate. Would like to at least see how a black backround would look.
Do you ever post photos with a lansscape orientation? if so, how would you integrate them?

I think it looks great. I'm assuming the shopping cart icon isn't supposed to link to anywhere at this point, since nothing can be added to cart. Also didn't see anywhere I'd need a password for.

I like the images a lot too, great abstracts and colors.

Thanks for comments everyone. The site is now working without the password.

I have been shooting almost exclusive in vertical orientation for the past 3-4 years. I don't know where that came from. That is the opposite that I used to do in the past, everything was always horizontal.

I will experiment with the background color and other things mentioned here. I didn't use too much of time to organize the photos, I will keep reorginazing them for sure.

Unfortunately I will not be adding text to the pictures, but maybe I will add more info to the info / contact / artist statement page. I generally dislike to explain my work. I will leave the viewer to decide what is it about. In any case, the work is pretty abstract and my shooting is based on a particular feeling that I get when I take my photos, regardless of the subject. I don't take photos because of how they look, but how they feel to me.

I agree with this, I will try to add some color to it. In that template, I couldn't find a way how to get rid of the transparency...
