Hi, I am currently refurb'ing a 1932 Leica II screw mount (aka Leica D)

Can anyone advise of the proper dimensions and best Transmission/Reflect ratio for beam splitting mirror for a Leica II (Leica D). I heard that T/R was 30:70 for pre 1939 and 50:50 post? Which is best for contrast?

I think there is a size difference pre and post 1939 and a difference with series III camera as well? Although I suspect its something around 8 x 10mm

Any thoughts on good source would be helpful. I have not made any progress in reaching SH camera as per other posts in this thread. Maybe I looking in wrong place

Am also looking to replace RF port glasses any advice on dimensions, spec, source gratefully received.

Many Thanks for any help

Geoff

Nobbysparrow is the best! Last time I ordered from him was more than 10 years ago, he remembered, and threw in a free mirror. His books and videos on youtube are also great.

Thanks all. 3 out of 3 recommend Nobby Sparrow…. So that’s where I will go!
Make that four, he is good for other bits and bobs too.

I have used his mirrors on original III as well as IIc/IIIc models. The mounting is a little different in the older ones as originally the mirrors were not stuck but held in place by a frame and a leaf spring, this is why thickness is a slight issue. I have just added a thin shim but they can probably just be stuck. Your II will probably be similar.

Does your II have the 1.5x “focussing” eyepiece or the standard 1x? As far as I can tell there is no difference in the actual RF/mirror part so it shouldn’t change anything.
