Doing my street photography thing outside the Mitsukoshi Building in Sapporo while my wife is shopping inside… having fun but the problem is that I know the camera store on the 7th floor has a MINT black chrome M4 selling for a little over 300K yen (just north of $2K). I know they do because I was holding it in my hands when we were here yesterday for Round 1 of my wife’s shopping. Must resist… probably the wrong forum for that sentiment. ✌️

Good price !
That’s why it’s so tempting… it’s $$$$$$ lower than anything on ebay or at any of the stores in Tokyo. In fact, if this were in Tokyo, it would probably be gone by now. The store’s only a short walk from our hotel so we may be back that way… hmmmm.

Sold my black M6 15 years ago. For me Leica and film times are a nice memory. Not more 😉
I was all digital for a while but decided that I missed the film experience—from bulk rolling to shooting with an RF to developing. I don’t have room for an enlarger, so I scan instead.

Which is why I'd give it a pass.
I get the “too good to be true” caution, but I’d be more cautious if I were buying sight unseen. Of course, you can never tell with anything of this vintage, but if I do pass, it would not be because the price is too good for the purchase to be any good.
