Uncommon or hard to find photobooks

Yes, but the book runs were finished and sold irrespective of this suit. The value of the books is related to rarity and lack of new editions.

I met Fan Ho in the early 2000s and he really was an amazing advocate for photography, history and the preservation of records of change of all built landscapes.
My parents grew up in Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s, and I sometimes wonder if Fan Ho's photographs match their childhood memories. Ho lived and passed away in San Jose, California, not far from where we are. Shame I didn't get to see any of his local exhibitions while he was still alive (or purchase one of his books from the local publisher in San Francisco).

Photos like those suggest, rather than match, memory, most of the time. Time itself has that slippery habit of just oozing away when you’re not looking.
