"Safe"?! I do hope this is irony. In a forum where ideas are (theoretically) exchanged, "Stranger danger!" should not be the operating principal.

Safe from spam, safe from scams, safe from trolls, and safe when conversation gets too heated. These things are infuriating on unmoderated forums.

That surprises me, because most of the Dutch I've met seem to speak better English than us English.

I spent about three months in The Netherlands and came to the same conclusion, the Dutch speak better English than most of us. But they are modest about it. IIRC English is taught from the fifth grade on for five years. Correct me if I am wrong. The Dutch were also quite civil. Which means we want none here because we must insult the new moderator, heavily. ;o)

Because they learn the Queens English, not the stuff we speak in America.

I know that because when I was an undocumented worked in Amsterdam for a year, my wife and I started to help a friend of hers who was studying to become a teacher. We quickly realized we were not helping.
