You don’t need it. The price of a DE‑1 finder is enough to buy an FM2—and you don’t need that either. Resist the temptation.

Price is relative, one will pop up for far less (or maybe an FM2 will reveal itself for a pittance, just like my FE2 did, and I'll get that. But that won't cure the DE-1 gas.) 😀

Yes, yes. It looks nice. I have the Simera 50 and the Eureka and like very much how they render color. I believe the company owning Thypoch is a cinema lens company. Anyway, I like the lenses but have to stop.

I've sourced a 35mm Canon viewfinder with parallax compensation doohicky for my Canon L2 and L3 ... and am now lusting for a 50mm viewfinder. I don't strictly *need* one, since I have a nice Canon 7 which serves me well as a dedicated 50mm host. And yeah, I can use the L2 and L3 with the built in 50mm finder. Or I could source a 50mm viewfinder without automatic parallax compensation. (In which case I might have to remove the parallax pin from a Canon L3 body in order not to damage the mechanism.)
So you see that I actually do *need* a Canon 50mm finder with parallax doohicky!

I was there some years ago. Those prisms were so expensive… I ended up selling my F2 😐

I made the mistake of handling a Rolleiflex a few months ago and now I want one of those bad.

I'd love to have a Nikon F with the DE-1 eye level finder. A black one with just the right amount of brassing to look like it's got a few stories to tell, but is still in great shape.

I want a GRIV Monochrome, even though I think the pricing is insane.

Never understand put a plain prism on F/F2, just get a FM or FM2 light compact, durable and excellent meter system. I have no idea why people pay big money for my viewfinder even does not have a meter build in🤣🤣🤣
