FOBA Baby FOBA

Shipping Art Board is too expensive for me right now. I borrowed a Cargo Van and drove to Dick Blick Art Supply. Loaded up the truck so to speak with 4 foot by 8 foot Foamcore Boards, they had a very large stock high quality for me to choose. Also they stock all kinds of large size Diffusion Sheets, I redid the Double Layered Diffusion on my Hazylight with Dick Blick when I first got it, still great shape and I use it a lot. I bought a variety of Diffusion that I have used over the years.

The pieces I wanted weren't full sized (longest edge 1m) and I ordered enough bits and pieces to qualify for free shipping anyway.

From www.glennview.com

Monocular on metal cone, snaps into round hole in Sinar Norma 4X5 tapered or bag bellows front frames or molded rubber bellows or square board that clips into any Sinar square 4X5 bellows frame, with rubber eyecup, $80. The Norma bag bellows on the left is $200. These bellows may be attached to a camera back as is the molded rubber bellows, which are also $200. The molded rubber bellows may be used as a compendium belllows as well; it has a 105mm threaded ring around the perimeter of the monocular cone that threads into the Sinar swing out filter holder. The bellows frame on the other end may to attached to an auxiliary standard. The rubber eyecup on these older monoculars is not as live as it once was and may be pulled off the metal lenscone easily. These monoculars are of sufficient strength to allow you to focus accurately. You cannot see the whole GG with the monocular, but you can see much of it at once. You may move the monocular around to view the corners. These monocular lenses are made of real glass and are much less likely to be scratched than the plastic lenses found in the Binocular reflex housing listed above--which is more for composing than focusing.

Modern FOBA Tripod not light weight but sturdy in the field. There's a plate in the camera, and slide pulled. Ready to fire. Looks good on the groundglass.

Glenn Evans in Chicago had this 18x24 8x10 Sinar P (Black Norma Spring Clips Norma Design) so I bought it, to complete this camera I want to use for Architectural and Interior. 165mm Sinar Norma Aperture Controlled Compur Special encased. Using with Sinar Norma Shutter, Norma Bag Bellows, Glenn P Back, 18x24cm Sinar Norma Film Plates, 8x10 Norma Reflex Viewfinder. Looks good through the viewfinder. I can see well enough to focus without my eyeglasses, looks very sharp on the glass. I have a dozen Sinar Norma 8x10 and 18x24 Film Holders, they "click" into the Glenn P Back.

I recently found a new old-stock FOBA Combi bag for sale online and ordered it. Turns out the interiors of most compartments have a rubbery coating, and this coating deteriorates with age, becoming sticky and leaving a slight residue when touched.

Something to be aware of if ever buying one, or to perhaps check if you already have one.

I'm having a bit of a bad run with Swiss products that have rubber coatings...I've got a couple of Broncolor generators whose top panels are rubberised and now feel quite sticky to touch due to their age. Just stick to metal or plastic, please!

Oh really, that is unfortunate!
I checked mine as I read your post. Mine are fortunately still fine. I didn't check all but three of them are fine.
The only part that feel rubbery to me is indicated in the photo...

On the one I received, the insides of those 8 long pockets for the combitube poles were rubberised. Likewise the internal surface of the large pocket on the left side, indicated below:

Checked! Also still fine and doesn't feel as rubber... Perhaps they are different batches where different materials were used?
Somebody at FOBA told me once the bags were produced in Switzerland in a workshop for people with various difficulties. Knowing the prices in Switzerland I understand why the bag was always very expensive... if I remember well around 200CHF!

I don't really know if it have a FOBA name? COBAG??
😜

Maybe they "improved" it?

In the US at least they refer to it as COMBI-bag in their marketing materials.
