Digital Black and White.

Dear petronius,

I just picked up an Industar-69 for use with a Bessa L. It had the distance scale flipped so zone focusing is easy and supposedly it was adjusted to focus to infinity on LTM39 mount cameras.

I should be done the roll of film in the camera in a few days, so we'll see what we get. I know it's not digital, but I wanted an LTM mount lens wider than 35mm and I didn't want to spend twice what I have wrapped up combined in the camera and lens for just a lens. For $ 79.99 plus $ 20.00 shipping from the Ukraine it was gamble I could afford.

The I-69 was originally used on the half frame Chaika. That´s what I got on a Zorki 1.

Some test shots with a Ricoh GR IV Monochrome. I got the camera a while ago but shot with it for the first time a couple of days ago. I only had about an hour to shoot with it. It is an interesting camera and a lot of fun to use. I will be in downtown Fort Worth and Dallas a few days from now and will get a chance to shoot it in an urban setting, which is one of the main reasons I purchased the camera.

This camera was (is - I still own it and recently have been using it once more, at least now and then) an excellent camera despite its modest sensor size of 7.5 megapixels. Combined with its Pana-Leica lenses it had very nice performance, though its CCD sensor requires care in use. Its tendency to lose highlight detail especially when shooting monochrome in camera, is evidenced here, despite the image being deliberately under exposed - something I was still grappling with at the time. But then again, in 2007 I had only just begun using digital cameras and had not yet learned the importance of shooting in RAW and converting in post when making such images. Hence this was shot in JPG using the in camera monochrome settings. These days I would do otherwise despite the camera's ability to make nicely toned mono. images in camera if exposure can be nailed.
