For the first time, I feel like I am finally making good progress in the area of Film-Developing-Scanning-Digital Manipulation.
RFF member wclavey graciously allows me to use his Epson 4990 scanner. Last night we spent way too many hours scanning parts of 3 rolls of 120 HP5+ I shot a few weeks ago. I am pleased. That doesn't mean that the photographs are Pullitzer Prize candidates. Far from it. However, the technical qualities are finally getting to the point where I am pleased.
I really really really like 120 & 4x5 HP5+ in Xtol diluted 1:3 in a Jobo 2553 tank on a Uniroller base for 9 minutes. No longer am I blowing out highlights unless I miss the exposure badly.
The split tone effect in Lightroom is still a work in progress. I'm getting close to the look I'm after. Or this may be the look I'm after.
Thanks to everyone for encouragement, help, tips, tricks, taking my money for cameras, lenses, film, tanks, etc. Photography is fun again.
Without further ado, a couple samples from my recent weekend in Gruene, Texas.
A few more can be found here...

Personal thoughts: Be your own worst critic. It doesn't matter whether anyone else likes your photographs as long as you like them. If you like your work, chances are good that someone else will like your work too.
Never give up. Keep shooting.
