it looks great and in mint condition, I can't wait to get it scratched up and dinged just to hear the fondler's scream in pain around the world! this is my first foray into rangefinders and my first impressions:

-I don't understand all of the comments about the 90 and 135mm framelines being too small. They seem large enough to compoose and focus?

-the small shutter speed dial feels a bit too small and hard to turn with one finger. its awkward using both index and thumb to turn the shutter dial. hopefully it loosens up over time or I can get used to it

otherwise it feels great!

And now I need a lens. I've posted an ad in the classifieds section, I'm looking for a 28mm ultron 1.9.

Congrats and welcome aboard.

Now comes the drooling over many a nice piece of glass :D

Cheers
Dave

Sounds good but I warn you they are addictive. I just wanted a 35 lens.. inside of a week I had a 90 and 15...

Congrats on getting a great camera. When I first got mine, I was so enamored, I went out and bought another one so I'd never be without if it broke

Now that's The way to get in the game. Now load it up with some ASA 400 Tri-x Black & white, walk out the house, and develop the film by shooting a series of exposures.

Welcome to the forum rjas and that is a nice first purchase!! :) I agree with you about the 90 & 135 framelines, I don't see any problem composing inside them either! Good luck finding your 28mm Ultron!

Welcome. Get some glass. I waited until I had enough cash to buy the glass with it. I'd never be able to own a camera without a lens, it's too much of a tease. I wish you many rolls of enjoyment.

to get used to the small shutter speed dial, you'll find that you treat it as a shutter-priority camera. 1/60 or 1/30 for indoors, 1/250 for general outdoors, faster if necessary, then just adjust the aperture. if you want to treat it as an aperture-priority camera, it's best to think of your thumb turning the dial instead of your index finger. that way it moves in the same direction as the arrows. this is why the hexar rf has the dial in the rear corner.

You will love it

You will love it

Shoot it for a couple of months and you will get used to it REALLY fast. I love my M and shoot with it almost daily. Congrats!
