could someone please provide me an unaltered rd1 file in raw format? I am trying to do some compares before making a certain move. I would like if possible something shot outdoors in a bright day with lots of details . Basically, I want to see how well it sharpens and prints. If I lik ethe end result, I will get rid of my 1DSII and opt for the smaller camera.
You can send the file to jtorral@gmail.com
thanks a bunch.

Epson raw files are about 9.5 mb, which is larger than my ISP will allow me to attach to an email.
If you want, you can visit my file sharing site at this location (click.) The first file in the list is an unaltered Epson raw file. You can download it by clicking the download arrow in the right-hand column.
It's a group shot of about a dozen people. It's electronic flash, not daylight, but the faces etc. provide a lot of details.

for some reason I cannot download the file correctly. I get about 240k and thats about it. Coud it be because your a mac and I am oc?
I was able to download it ok, and it is the predicted 9.5Mb, but Photoshop CS won't open it... maybe I don't have the required plug-in or something...

Jorge,
I've sent you a raw file. Let me know if you need any more.
Anyone else want some to play with?

I'd like like a RAW available light shot at ISO 1600 and 800 please. I shot a bunch of available light shots yesterday with a friends D2H at several ISOs. While it is slammed for only being a 4meg camera the result blew us away, even when upped to make 12x17s. Every pore every eyelash every razor stuble, all there. I'll jpg one and post it. 4 megs can rock, especially when you already have 7 lens for it! Got glass for an r-D1 too.

Anybody who wants a couple of Epson raw files to play with can download them from my file sharing folder:
The top file in the list was at ISO 200; the two lower ones were 800.
I'm not vouching for the quality of the actual photography (I really ought to get some newer raw files onto this server, but haven't yet) but if you want to experiment with conversions etc., feel free (for noncommercial private use, of course...)

Hi,
I'm interested in getting some R-D1 files. The reason is that I'm writing a library (open source) to decode RAW files, and having a sample would help.
The link above leads to nothing... :-(
Thanks for any help.

Note the date on that post -- 3/14/2005. I have to prune my web space from time to time, and that must be one that got removed.
Since we all want to encourage people writing raw-decode libraries (Dave Coffin does a great job withi dcraw, but it's always good to have more choices) I've put up another one, which you should be able to get from the following link:
http://homepage.mac.com/jlw/temp/06-11-02_147.ERF
It was made with an R-D 1 with the v2.x firmware update. You might also want to try to corral an R-D 1s raw file and a file from an R-D 1 with the original v1.x firmware, to make sure your code handles all of them -- we did have a bit of trouble with Adobe's raw-conversion code when the firmware update and the "s" model came out, so their formats must be slightly different.
Let us know how your project comes out. Good luck...
