Nice shot, Roland, and neat carving job, as well.
The 1.2 has had a relatively poor reputation, and the shots that have been posted will do a lot to repair that slur. I've always enjoyed using mine, and that bit of extra helps a lot sometimes.
The 0.95 is also a super lens for the pic that isn't possible otherwise. The difference in size and weight between the 1.2 and the 0.95 are almost unbelievable.

Just paid through the nose for one of these in basically original condition complete with front and rear caps. Achingly beautiful, they really don't make them like this anymore. Amazing heft and quality to it. Looking forward to having a play with it, works really nicely on my R-D1...

And, for what it's worth, I think the Canon 50/1.2 did an outstanding job in that shot (not that you didn't contribute as the photographer...).

The 50mm/1.2 is a sharp enough lens at 1.4, and it manages to handle the difficult situations at 1.2.What more can you ask for at such a price?
If you take a look at my current and past 50mm comparisons you will find the 50/1.2 lens consistently doing well.

The original hoods are priced very high these days (not uncommon to pay more than $175) I'm using a standard cheapo metal 55mm hood, but honestly I really only use this lens in low light - so 9 times out of 10, I don't bother with the hood (shame on me).

I use a hood that I found on ebay made for the olympus 50/1.2. Metal, set screw but intrudes somewhat into my M3's viewfinder. As with others, I primarily use it in the dark, though, so that's not too much of a bother..

The hood for the original canonet fits and is rather cheap on Ebay. And you get a Canon hood on a Canon lens ;-)

I have the original lens hood, which is a pain in the whatchamacallit because it slips off easily. Do not buy it.

The Canon 50/1.2 used to be my fastest lens, but I recently was lucky enough to try out three other fast lenses, including a Canon 50/0.95 that I have heard a lot about but never used before.
What is the f stop difference between 1.2 and 0.95? Is it half a stop?
Anyways, here is an example of what I got with the Canon 50mm/0.95 wide open on a Canon 7s and hand held. The OOF area can be harsh looking in comparison with the 1.2 of the Canon 50/1.2.
The shiny area on the right is a window at the front door, and the shiny area on the left is a cabinet with glass.

While emphasis is on using the 1.2 lens wide open, it is know that this lens is excellent at all f stops smaller than 1.2. Here is a photo taken with the Canon 50/1.2 at 4.0 with color film.
Compare the photo above to the photo below, taken with the Canon 50/1.4 at 4.0.
Can you really state that the 50/1.2 is inferior somehow? I can't.

The lovely shots of your ever-patient daughter are certainly telling. I was especially interested in the comparison with the 1.4 at f4. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the sample of 1.2 that you have!!
I just re-mounted my 1.2 on my shooter 7s, and hope to get out next weekend for some shots. And retirees are supposed to have so much free time..... (not).
