Get this lens if you're planning to do a lot of rapid street shooting. From my experience, DOF on a 28mm is not quite as sufficient as DOF on a 25mm.
It's an okay deal. Not cheap but not expensive either, IMO.
Finding a filter might be troublesome. Just to let you know, Nikon filters will not fit it. I have a spare one which I stupidly bought.

Oh, yes, you need this lens. I broke down and bought one for myself several months ago, and my bank account still hasn't quite recovered. But, the CV 25 has replaced the 50mm Summicron as my "normal" lens on my IIIc. I very rarely take it off anymore. Attach the viewfinder and big honkin' optional hood, and it's a rather serious looking camera. And the image quality is fantastic.
I've never warmed to 35mm lenses. I've got a J-12, but rarely use it; maybe for three shots over the past six months. Ninety-nine percent of my shots are taken with prime lenses from 45-50mm and anything less than 28mm. I love my 16mm Zenitar fisheye on my Nikon, too, and routinely shoot entire rolls with it.

I have 35, 50, 85 lenses and have lived happily until now, but I have a chance to buy a CV 25mm and I can't resist...![]()
I know I don't use this focal length that much. On RF as well as SLR I tend to use 35 the most. Only when I can't back off any further I use 28mm and I feel like I'm using an ultra-wide.
It seems I don't need it at all, but then ... it's attracting me so much :bang:
So, any suggestions why I DON'T need the lens?![]()
1: it is NOT coupled
2: it is discontinued
3: the 21 IS coupled
4: waiting for a new faster coupled 25 [remember the new Bessa 4M/A has frame lines of 21/25/28/35/50

The new lens won't be any use if you only have screw thread bodies (but on the other hand, there will probably be a lot of 25mm screw lenses appearing for sale as people upgrade)4: waiting for a new faster coupled 25 [remember the new Bessa 4M/A has frame lines of 21/25/28/35/50

Sure, if it comes with viewfinder and screwmount adapter and if I will get suprisingly high wage for the last month

Thanks.
I decided to not take it.
I took my OM 28mm and tried to compose with it for a while, and decided 25mm is not for me. Even the 28 feels ultra-wide. My respect to those who can make good use of the 25...

I'm late to the party. but...
24mm is one of my faves on SLR, so I picked up a 25 last year for use on my M6. I discovered that I really dislike using external VFs on a M, and that 28mm worked better for me because of the internal VF. YMMV.

Rats. I was going to suggest that you go ahead and buy one -- and then send it to me!
BTW -- Did you see my private message about perhaps coming to Bratislava next summer?
