I just came through the airport with a roll of 3200 speed film in my luggage. Any thoughts as to whether or not it is ruined?

checked or carryon?
checked - dead no matter what speed.
carryon - probably okay, but depends on how many times its been through. I've taken Delta 3200 through about 4 times and it's been fine.

I recently accidentally left an exposed roll of Fuji 800 in a checked bag flying domestically from MDW to OMA.
I was afraid it was ruined. It was not. Normal negatives and no visible fog or streaks.
My guess is that for some reason it did not get x-rayed. I've seen examples of what happens to film that is x-rayed in checked bags and it is not pretty.

dmr - in a way, that's scary. I'd rather that all checked baggage be x-rayed. knowing that yours did not bothers me...

No way to know without processing it. Clip the first few frames and run a test.

It may have been hand inspected. Every so often I'll arrive at my destination, open a bag I checked, and find a "Inspected by no. 12" slip in there.

A X-Ray proof bag may be well derserved. I am using a Domke and it looks cool thou.

I use P3200 a lot. If it was xrayed it's very likely ruined. That film fogs by itself from cosmic rays if it's the slightest bit out of date. Beautiful film but very sensitive stuff.
