Question about M5

What is the different between M5 2 rag, and 3 rag? Does M5 have only black chrome, but not black paint?

You mean lugs. Camera strap lugs. Some M5s have 2 lugs, camera strap lugs on the same side so the camera hangs vertically. 3 lug M5s have the usual 2 on either side plus one below the lug on the rewind side, so the camera can hang lengthwise. M5s were only available in chrome and black chrome.

Below is pictured a 3 lug, chrome M5. The extra lug is below the one on the right, looking head on to the camera.

Later versions had the 3rd lug added on the other end. The other improvement was to make the shutter speed dial click stops firmer. Early users complained that the shutter speed dial could move to easily and change speeds without the user knowing it.

Both modifications can me made to early bodies by Sherry Krauter. I own the early version with the late modifications made by Sherry. It looks and performs exactly like the later version.
