Save me from myself

Ralph, go for it. The obsession won't let you sleep otherwise. I used to cry myself to sleep before buying my Summilux.

Now... I do the same wondering why I paid so much for it.

But then, when I use it, it feels good.

Any chance you can use your Ultron as trade-bait? Consider that path too...

The best part is: When you finally get the "good gear", you start to wonder if it's worth it. Then you start selling off, and get a cheap camera. Two months later you're longing for the good sh*t again.

It never ends.

sell the chrome one - get the black Ultron 35 - your pictures will improve dramatically.

:D

Seriously.

And I have a bridge to sell you.

Actually, I think Frank provides a valuable service ... at least for me. Of course, balance in this place is highly discouraged.

kinda funny...i was just about to start a thread called, 'i'm beginning to obsess'...and talk about selling some of the om gear which i figure would get me about half way to the zm 50/1.5 and putting up the rest of the cash from my own pockets.
that lens has me near paralyzed with an all consuming endless daydream about it and the images i imagine i would make with it.

Whoa... way too early to get that crazy, joe. Have you even received everything yet? GeneW really disappointed me when he went non-OM; if you go so soon I'll hold both of you responsible for whatever I might do ...

Happy to be of service, Earl!

I've had a busy week buying/selling gear, but not spending any new money, so it's all still in balance.

See, isn't this a fun conversation?

Ray, stay away from the Nokton. I keep that, but do need a little lighter lens for general use and walking around. I have to admit though, that indoors, the Nokton has found it's way onto my M6 quite often.

I think chrome lenses today are very retro and thus very camp. As are chrome-bodied cameras - and sometimes cheaper. In a world where everyone's toting about a black DSLR or SLR, chrome is a real head-turner.

"Wow! How old is that thing?" Or, "What's that?" I got this quite often when I had a Yashica GSN. (Speaking of lenses, as we are, don't you wish you could unscrew that one off the GSN and put it on a Z1 or an M7 or an R3A? What a wonderful piece of glass).

I have been "stuck" on what gear I have, except that pusher Gene made me buy an M42 body w/ 50/1.8; he tricked me by throwing in ("The first one is free, buddy") a CZJ 135/3.5 M42. Then a buddy at work also gave me a Helios 44-M to go with the M42 body. So all that for the $20USD that Gene wrenched out of my wallet for the body and 50/1.8. That's pretty balanced, I spose.

But I've gone and bid on a Bounce Grip 2 and flash cord for the OM-1/2N bodies and T20. It's local and I won't go very high as I don't really NEED it, but if I can snag both for $30 with no shipping, that's still pretty balanced, right? RIGHT????
