Just finished my DIY leather half-case for my Bessa R. It's not bad, but Luigi's is much nicer 🙄 If only I had the money for one of his cases... but I don't, so this will have to do for now.

So, this is my previous half-case:

this is the new one:

Very Nice. Is there particular technique for the stitches?

I am pondering this myself. I was wondering if I should stitch it or glue it together. Any advice?

Not a bad job indeed A little slicking on the cut edges and it would be that much more perfect. Take a little black polish and a rag and go over the edges till they shine.

Did you use a popular/documented technique for the leather stitching? Where did you get the carcass?

Looks great!

Think of leather steering wheels. It is a simple but time consuming work and will provide some nice finish. I just used it to build a diy wrist strap. If you can do some of the work using a machine it is even easier. There must be some leather around. Just a second I try to find it and show how it is done...
Ok, it is a quick and dirty approach but it should give you an idea how it is done. After cutting the pieces apply the stitching to the edges you want to put together like in the first picture. If you want to add some strength to it put some glue on from the backside so that the stitching can't move. Put the pieces next to each other and stitch it like in the second picture. The smaler the gaps the better it looks but obvious it takes some time. Have fun.
