Dave,

Are you keeping one or selling both?
If both, would you share why?

Always appreciate you contributions a lot and value your oppinion.

Thanks,

Just got my 3rd refurb and i think i hit the jackpot! rangefinder is almost spot on (very slight vertical misalignment, but i'm being anal) and focuses fabulously. although its an earlier serial number (16XX), it looks new sans some light scratches on the screen. i just need to confirm the sensor is free from dead/hot pixels.

i think i can finally shoot my leica lenses. i am ecstatic. it begs the question should one feel so surprised about an accurate rangefinder....? greater issues have no place here, though, i'm just happy to have a functioning digital rangefinder:eek:

Concratulations - 3rd time lucky.

If its not already had the firmware update applied adding this should cure any dead/hot pixels if they are present.

Once again, they're back up (Saturday, 2/3/07 @ 12:32am PST). Can't figure out a discount code that works yet...

Thinking about getting a second R-D1 body, but with tax in CA, I'm looking for the 10% discount. Maybe I'm just greedy.

Found a code that might work, all others on previous threads seem to be expired..
First time Epson.com buyers: FS9F

Anyone got it to work?

Yes, it seems they were in stock for a matter of minutes. I refreshed the page after placing my order and they were gone. Additionally, my account says "order under review," so I imagine there's a chance it will be cancelled, as one previous order of mine has. Though, that time, by the next morning my order had already been cancelled while now, 8 hours later, it seems to be in limbo. I'm not getting my hopes up; afterall, it would be a back up body for good 'ole number 00007X which is serving me nicely.

Maybe these "pre-production" early numbers were build more carefully?
