Horizon s3 and a problem

ok so i have my new week old horizon s3 sport and love panoramic photography.

I have put a handful of rolls through this bad boy and have found an odd fault (i think) the right edge of each frame is blured, like it has been 'lifted' away from the shutter plane and streched.

This looks like the film hasnt been kept flat against the curved shutter.

Has anyone else had anything like this happen? am i resigned to sending it away for a repair or can this be fixed ad hoc?

I really love this camera and its stirred my darkroom days back (comming from a die-hard digital photoshop lover thats impressive)

anyway just wonder if anyone else has this has this 35mm panoramic forum is the first place I've seen that dicusesses these cameras (thats and a group on flickr)

This is par for the course for Russian rotating lens panormic cameras. There is a bit more film exposed out of the range of the lens. A little bit extra that is not in the focal plane to the lens. Nice imagery though.

I have Horizon S3 Pro from www.rugift.com. Yes, s%$$t happens and sometimes light is entering in. The vertical slit is known path for light entry. Yow will see sometimes also vertical path of light in case the sun is against your camera. Take care while loading the camera, don't release the finger until the sweep ends and wind the lever at once and slowly.

Any samples of your blurred film. No offence, but I am inclined to think that you haven't passed the film behind one of the rollers.

I'm not at my desk right now to get an orginal scan uploaded but i will do later, i did think it was something about the way i was loading it but i'm putting it under the two rollers each side of the shutter... but i am looking at prehaps adding a small mini roller inside the camera (i have some very good camera repair friends who have advised that its not that difficult to add)
One thing i have found is the extra detail not in the viewfinder... i did a very tightly composed shot the other day and found a wonderful dustbin in the frame not seen at the time... but i guess i shoudnt be tooooo focused on being technically perfect and go with the flow with this type of camera.

I did a few shots on Brighton Pier and notced the flare from the sun, and how it effects the lens.

I didnt know the tip about keeping the shutter button down til the sweep ends, how does that affect the camera?

BUT desipte the niggle... its such a wonderful camera and really enthuased about getting back to the darkroom again!!

Sometimes, the scan stops prematurely. Leaving the finger on the shutter button does it all.

well.... i took the camera to a friend who has repaired cameras old and new he took a long look at it and found some small plastic sticking out from the top of corner of the shutter frame, i missed it as i totally forgot it reversed the image when exposing the film thus i was looking at the wrong side of the shutter. Thus the film was raised before being flattened and exposing correctly!!!

He filed and cleaned the back and hey presto... my first roll went through perfect, straight and in focus.

The viewfinder only has 110degree field of view but the camera has about 120. So you need to check the edges ofthe frame for strange objects. I don't use the viewfinder much because I have found that the field of view of one eye (including rotation of the eye ball) is about the same as the Horizon's.

The lens is nice, but internal reflections in the body does cause flare when the sun is included in the frame.
