Leicagoodie's sling + M grip = nice combination

Yesterday received by M-grip - put it on my M6 together with the sling I have on it.
Thought beforehand both will not work together convenience-wise, however to my surprise found them to provide even more secure grip to my M6 and fit my hand nicely.
Whilst my forefinger + middle filgers are through the sling providing secure and conveniently attachment to the hand, the little finger together with the next one rest on the lower part of the grip which contributes to the conveince of the camera sitting tightly in the hands.

Mind you, my hands are relatively small, so I can imagine to someone with larger palm it may be even more convenient.

Please by this combination (and the Abrahmson soft release adds-up)....

Sure, as soon as will figure the charger for my wife's digi battery. Few weeks ago week the chargers got lost somewhere in the house. the battery went flat recently...
 
Yes, I know, they aren't available now and God knows whether will re-open ever.
But some time ago, while investigating into pruchasing their goods, I figurd several discussions where users said they can only user either he sling or the grip but not both together. So I tried the combinaiton and presented my thoughts, thats all.

BTW, I managed to order from them just a day prior to their closing, took nearly three weeks until they managed to ship the order, but at last I'm pertty much satisfied..
 
Well, this is all interesting news.

As to the sling/grip, thanksf or posting thoughts. I was curious myself...mostly on the grip..

Considering perhaps built in grip half case by Luigi...although a fraction more time consuming chanign film, well, speed in this area is not my (perhaps our) greatest concern anyway.

Actually, however, I might throw in that I use a leather neck strap. Rarely around the neck unless I am going places and need to put it over shoulder...

take it, wrap it a couple times around wrist, give it a twirl, and it becoem extension of your arm.

(But there is also the argument of making the camera more visible thereby allowing all others to see you intend to take photos, but i don't really prescribe to it, although respect the atitude...but I digress)


Does the handle make the camera feel too, i don't know, SLR?

After all, hooks usage (presumably with Leicagoodie's strap which is too long for me) is intended to handle the camera on single lug with teh strap across the body (of the photographer).
Are you sure lugging on single one isn't healthy for M6 ?

Agree with Magus there, Alex. Don and Sherry seem to advise against it, too.
But the grip takes weight away from the lug.

You use forefinger and middlefinger for the sling? It's IMO intended for middlefinger & ringfinger - and the forefinger stays free for the shutter release. That's at least how Leicagoodies recommends it (see pic) and how I do find it most comfortable. But if the sling is not too tight, your way should work too. It's up to you how you like it most. Have you ever tried it with mid/ringfinger?

Luigi case with the built-in grip might be an reasoable alternative to the M-grip for those who use camera cases, though I do not own Luigi product. I
I noticed Luigi makes also his cases for M6/7 equipped with M-grips and this indeed appeals to me, however the cases, albeit reprotedly being a pieces of art, are a bit too expensive for my liking. Besides, I personally prefer a good used, worn camera cases that may look rough but are strong enough to offer an adequate protection to the camera.
I actually liked waering the camera across the chest with the proper strap and hook - shooting becomes very convenient with strap on and if properly length-adjusted provide additional strudiness to the handling (whilst picked to your eye - the strap is tightly stretched).

The M grip doesn't add any cnosiderable bulkness or heft to M6, it is designed nicely to fit camera's concept and also - it transfers tripod atachment hole to the center - a proper location for tripod usage.

Sure Didier - I stand corrected, sorry. That was exactly what I meant to say (often my fingers type faster then my brain is able to process...)

Roland, thanks, these aren't encourable news for me. I'm getting used carrying the camera across my chest on single lug and find it very convenient also for instant shooting, now I'll have to reconsider my habit...:bang:

BTW, did not get your point how the grip can take away the weight from the lug - in fact the hook with the strap ais attached to the opposite lug to the one where the sling and the grip are, so in fact, the grip adds up to the weight that hangs of the lug....🙄

Bill, I'm curious about your belt/lens pouhces. I'm looking for a convenit shoulder bag small enough yet able to hold my M6 with lens on it + room for 2 lenses (Elmarit-M 90mm/2.8 that on its way to me now, and a prospective 28mm lens). I'm just mentally tired of these overprotective, inflated bags, want somethign small, convenient.
Oon the other hand, your belt system does appeal to me. Perhaps this is the way to go.
Can you please hint me what they are and where the get sold ?

Just the way I am carrying a camera with grip, Alex. Either around my Neck (normal 2 lug neck strap), or in my right hand, arm down my body, Neckstrap twisted around my wrist and the camera held by grip and 3 fingers or so. I was imaginging you using a wrist strap ....

Well, Roland, I do not have a wrist strap, and after getting used to the sling abandoned the plans on getting one. Carrying the camera in my hand with the strap twisted around my wrist - I do that occasioanlly, but do not consider that for any pro-longed periods.
It appears I'll have to re-consider my habit of carrying it hanging on single lug - too bad because it is really convenient either during inactive periods or for instant shooting...the grip gets into teh picture when actively shooting - the I carry the camera in the hand grasping by the grip, yet the strap is still across my chest...
 
I have carried my M6 with the SLIDE ring attached to a medium short key pendant belt, all the time. No lug broken off so far... The reason is I prefer that solution to a regular strap - it's more pocketable.
