Hi, my Auto S2 has a shutter speed ring which is stiff to turn. I believe that this is due to drying grease. Has anyone had a go at servicing this, or know a link to some details. It's a great camera, but this problem means that it's a pain to use.

Hey thanks, Borghesia,
the fourth image shows where I want to get to. How did you get start on this, the first image shows the lens with the surround removed. How does this come off?

Oh I think I see! Remove the threaded ring inside the surround and the plate comes off!

Regards, Dave....

Hello Dave, There are a few ways to get the ring apart. Just like me, you found a trick to do it, without the help of a specialized spanner.
By examining the pictures, you'll solve your shutter problem. Keep in mind to do it with care and ease.

Well, thanks for your help and links to some instruction, I finally had a few hours spare, so I had a go. Taking off the front bezel, front lens group and the shutter speed selection ring was quite easy. The selector ring did have some dried grease on it, but i think that the major cause of the stiffness was the ring binding with the lens outer body. A simple cleaning and an adjustment of the RF in the horizontal (under the screw top next to the viewfinder) and it's fine, in fact it's really nice. I'll renew the light seals and will soon give it a try.
I notice that the lens will move a little if "rocked" from side to side, this is only a small amount, I'm sure that this is a common thing, anyone else see this? Can it be a problem?

Dave..
