But why should anyone other than me care what I think?!

Moderator, please ban this guy immediately!

He obviously has no idea why forums exist or how they work.

No, they make DSLRs that are much less expensive and much more capable.

Just my opinion.

MY feeling exqctly. The M8 brings nothing new to the table except problems. Too many issues, leica is unstable as a company and just discontinued the DMR and has basically left their DMR customers hanging and too short on pixels for pro work. If leica has abandon their DMR customers what will they do with their M8 customers. The M8 is overpriced with under performance.

You da Man! :D

Thanks Rover.:) I had to sell some film stuff to recover from the financial blow though. (Not that the M8 is expensive for what it is, but it is a surprising stack of Euro's nevertheless). Both have been performing excellently and with (to quote LFI) blindingly good results. :)

come on. Everybody's so serious. Nobody finds it funny, the screenshot i posted??:(
I think it's a really funny coincidence.

Just try an M8 and then you have an opinion worth reading. Im not saying you have to like it but you have to try it if you are intersted enough to post about it. End of thread.

I like your Morgan. Owned one myself for eighteen years. Superb cars, only they tend ot leak oily water into your shoes. At least mine did...

Nobody will believe you Jaap ..... so give up...... your preaching in the wrong church!!
Its most cynical that mostly Canon 5d & 1ds shooters appreciate the M8.
Leica was just in time looking beyond the conservative rangefinder crowd ...
Business never was so good .... backorders on almost every M lens and still waiting lists for the M8 ......... so who cares for the hostile narrow-minded opinions poisening this forum :D :D

Glad you like the car Jaap! Glad to say mine does not leak yet but it is only 10 years old. Maybe I have that pleasure to come! Lots of people say that they think Morgans have awful handling, and interstingly they have never driven one!

Nachkebia, I certainly would not acuse you of being narrow minded and can only assume that you have already tried out an M8 for a day or so? I trust that your posts are therefore the result of ballanced opion and are not based on either predudice or hearsay.

I also assume that you are not referring to me as a Geek.

Richard

I would, if it cost the price of an RD1

...Vick

I would in a heartbeat if it cost the price of an RD1 refurb. After all, it's not like buying a used one is likely to be any more like playing Russian roulette than a new one. For the price of a new RD1 ($2999) I would be less likely to buy but I can't imagine it'd need $1800-worth of repairs and I think I might go for it. OTOH I was most definitely not even momentarily tempted by Popflash's "offer" the other day here of a "demo" M8 (still needing the Solms upgrade) for $300 under new. It'd have to be at least $1000-1500 under new price to tempt me.
