Take a look at eBay item 160084982783.
As of this moment it has no bids with 22 hours left and a starting bid of $1000. Note that the seller has zero feedback.
is everyone just afraid of a seller with no feedback? Or could this camera be a fake? Or is it just a good buy that people are passing on?

The problem is that since the seller has no history there is no way of know if the seller will rip you off. There may not even be an MP, the pictures could be from another sale. $1000 would be quite a gamble.

Seems legit.
Takes PayPal, Has Ebay buyer protection (but because he has than 50 transactions, only $200.00 limit.
Don't know how you can varify his sale item. Maybe some one else can answer that.
Also, is the SN correct for the MP's SN's range?
Is there a shutter button cap missing around the button?
The MP had NO TIMER ?? (not a Leica user (yet)

I think this is totally scam, because he is selling camera, but the discription is talking about lens. (not even viewfinder)

when I worry about a scam on ebay like this, i'll contact the seller and ask them to take a picture of the item with some common household item, like a spoon or something, and send it to me. at least that way you know they actually possess the item. they may still try to take your money, but much less likely. if they don't reply or they make some excuse about not being able to do it, i avoid.

This is a clearly fraudulent listing. I reported it to eBay which everyone should do if an item has even a hint of suspicion about it. I'm sure it will be gone by tomorrow.

Are we looking at the same auction??
The one I saw described a Leica MP body...no lens..

My M5s need red dots!
Ira, it's already gone.
I'm tracking an auction that cracks me up: a guy is offering a golden M4 with golden Summilux. Not that I'm interested; I simply want to see how long it takes before being removed. I don't know what to make of the pictures in the auction, but the guy takes Paypal and has zero feedback. The basic bid is kinda high ($876), which inspires suspicion.
Now, given what I've seen, I'll do like Ira and report it. It's just too fishy.

when i sense that something is too good to be true, i always click on the sellers feedbacks. usually all they've sold to get the high feedback rating is lots of the same items for a few dollars, sometimes cents.
then WHAM! guess what!? after all these years of selling votive candles, i've decided to sell my brand new leica M8 for half the price, because i have no idea what it is! but you have to email me to buy it.....

I make it a habit to patrol eBay photo listings to report scams. It's easy and quick to do. I hate the scammers. It makes me feel real good to see their listings removed.
