How Long Since You Took a Picture?

I lucked out yesterday and got to shoot my favorite ride, a cherry '52 Ford woody- nice. Right before that a friend asked me to shoot a large dragon sculpture she helped build, also very cool.

Just put a 4x5 neg into the fix. That was exposed an hour ago.
Last time I took a photo on medium/miniature was yesterday
Last digi/phonecam photo was an hour ago

Ive been in a slump too. I think Ive triped the shutter once in the last week. Even with a camera with me. I think it's the weather...TOO DARN COLD...But tonight were going to visit with the grand kids while their mom and dad go to a valentine banquet. They have 8 kids so it'll be fun. I'll take my camera.🙂

about 20 minutes ago, i finally took the minolta 7s2 out for a walk with the dog. it's in the plus side of the temp scale so i could actually sort of enjoy the walk.
it's half snowing and half raining.
gotta love alberta weather.

Phoenix College one evening per week for 4 hours, it is pretty interesting and forces me to try different techniques.

Ah, this poll brings to my mind a very good question.

Does "practice makes perfect" notion applies to photography?

If it does apply, until what point? can you practice your way to the level of the masters like Ansel Adams or HCB or (insert your fave photog here)?

If it doesn't apply, why not?

Practice doesn't make perfect in any pursuit.

Practice of perfection "makes perfect." Practicing my bad habits just reinforces them.

Parctice always makes better, but by itself it doesn't make great. That requires a gift of something - determination, stubborness, passion, vision, technique ... It's different for everyone but must be there to excel - in anything.

I'd say no, because practice is just one aspect of what it takes to be a good photographer.
