Can any one direct me to an online resource which gives filter sizes for various Leica lenses, if one exists?

Alternatively can anyone tell me the filter sizes for:

(a) Summicron 50 f2 - last but one version
(b) Elmarit 28 f2.8 - pre-ASPH version, I also need to know the lens cap size for this lens as well.

TIA for being helpful

39mm, or at least the Cron is. I think it is the same for the Elmarit, I will check mine when I get home.

A quick follow up question:

Is the thread pitch the same as "normal" filters such as those from Hoya or B+W? I have Leitz filters on my Leitz lenses. Can I use any other filters?

All Summicron 50 and 35 have the same filter size: E39mm. As for the Elmarit, the question has been answered.

BTW, these lenses can use all kinds of filters as long as they're the E-type: the most common one with the thread. I use B&W, Leica, Heliopan, Hoya and Sunpak filters with my Leica glass.

Have fun reading! :)

BUT watch out for 39mm filters that have too big an outside diameter to fit inside a Leica 12585 lens shade. Fotodix and S&W filters fit the thread fine, but you can't put the shade over them. You can't put a Voigtlander LH-2 shade for the 35mm f2.5 over them either.
