Why don't you just have a catigory for fsu body+fsu glass and another catigory for any body + fsu glass, then everybody will be happy.:)
 
I think it would be interesting seeing Bessas, Leicas, Ikons, Canons, and Nikons competing with each other all shooting fsu glass.:)
 
As I've said before, I would rather be inclusive than exclusive and while I'll be shooting FSU camera and lens I think FSU lens and other camera is OK.
That said, I have to admit that I apparently clicked the other choice when I first responded to this poll. Doesn't change the total much at this point and I'm not worried about changing it but thought I should fess up.

looking at the voting, it's pretty clear the way that most folks would prefer to go.
while i also prefer the inclusive rather than exclusive model i do understand the joy in using a body and lens made for each other.

if you guys are ok with it maybe when the fsu contest is going i'll start a thread for pics from fsu glass and we can all be happy and included.

LOLOL!! Actually joe, just between us, I secretly hacked into FrankS PM box and found he's spawned a conspiracy trying to entice you to trip down the FSU slippery slope, forever destroying any hopes of your "being done."

And BTW, no matter how the polling comes out, I'm really looking forward to this FSU shoot-out. It was great fun last year with lots of good shots and surely will be even better this time 'round.

i see that we have members who dont have both FSU parts (body and lens) so i would like to open this contest for them also because it would be stupid that someone spend money and buy gear just to enter contest. i will just ask people who want to join contest to write beside the name of photo what equipment was used.

FF - FSU body and lens
FA - FSU body and any lens
AF - any body and FSU lens

Just write this before the name of your photo. we will simply make winners for three categories and everybody will be happy. we dont want people to be sad - we just want to have fun.
 
Starting at no framelines and going over unmeterd to 30 years without a CLA against a spanking new M7 or Bessa R3A may lead to a somewhat distorted competition :)
I'd be fine to include LTM Leicas and Contax II/III, probably other LTM cameras and Nikons of same vintage.
 
M7, R3A ? i absolutely forgot that cameras like that exist. i agree that they will distort competition - but they will fall into another category. we can ask back alley to open other galleries for contesting in other categories - maybe its easier than to make everything in just one gallery.

hehe its not a tradition yet - its only second time, and also things always need to be improved. if we have people who dont have equipment and want to join contest we must find a way to make them happy also. that is what is this contest about - no prizes - just having a great time and playing around with our old cameras. so back alley dont worry about tradition put your new j12 on your contax and join this. :)

it will have to be the j12 on the nikon though, i don't think it fits the contax lla.

and back alley one question for you since you are moderator and have more experience. what do you think is better: all groups in one gallery(and writing beside name what equipment was used) or making separate gallery for every group.

you might want to check with stephen/jorge as i think jorge will be the one setting things up.
it could be one gallery with seperate sub headings.
