Hey guys, I think that I've seen a thread around here about these guys before but thought I'd request any recent stories.
Has anyone had a camera CLA'd or any repairs done by Luton Leica lately? I'm thinking of sending my M3 there for a shutter replacement and general tune up via a friend in London.
Are these guys top notch or are they a bit dodgy in QC?
Thanks,
Tim

CRR Luton have done my M2 (service, shutter replacement, repaint), IIIc (service, beam splitter replacement), IIIg/Leicavit (service, beam splitter replaced) & CL (service, re-calibration of meter). Their work is excellent, nothing dodgy. If you wish to send a camera in it would be a good idea to call Peter Grisaffi beforehand. Email is not good +44 (0)1582 570395

Thanks, mate.
I got my friend to call them and she said they sounded very helpful.
Seems that the total repair would be 215GBP, which seems very good to me.
How long did each of your jobs take?
Thanks again,
Tim

Remember that Peter usually has quite a backlog, call him first, he may need some time before getting around doing your cam.
BTW he seviced an M4p and repaired a 28mm Ultron for me, excellent jobs and reasonable pricing, you can't really ask for more.

I am sure there will be a chorus of such posts- but Peter's service and workmanship is superb: turnaround does depend on backlog - although my camera was ready in just over a week - but any delay will be reasonable and the results are well worth it.
