Did you say Nippon Kogaku
Stephen,
What does "P" stand for in these new lenses?
Any chance of another Nikon RF lens?
Regards,
Kiu

"P" is probably for Pancake. I don't recall but $749 seems higher than the original quoted price. I think I'll wait...

Hi Stephen,
do you know already what frame lines will be shown with the 25mm on M8?
Should be a vey nice lens to be used as a "walking around" solution, but from my experience you need the IR filter and that means coding.
Best regards

25/4 P does 24 frameline on the M8
25/4 P does 24 frameline on the M8
the 25/4P brings up the 35/24 frameline on the M8
or the 35/135 framline on other M's
of course on Bessas it makes no difference
since the framelines are manually selected

Aw, crap. I'm just know I'm gonna have to have that new 25mm even though I have the old one. I hate it when that happens!

just curious
I wonder if that sexy LH-1 Square Hood fit on the new 21 lens? I love that hood makes me feel like a cinematographer!

Stephen, will you be at the Camera Expo in Carson this Sunday? I'd like to see any samples you may have on hand.

It looks like Canadians finally win! In Vancouver Leo's is going to be selling the R4 bodies for $799 CDN. Cheaper than ordering from the U.S.
I may have to say bye-bye M6, hello R4!

If Stephen wants a deposit on the 25 it will be on the way today.
I have been taking rolaids and tums and anything else to keep the gas down since I put my money on the 4M so I am good to go

Interesting. The UK-based Robert White site lists:
"Coming soon...
New Voigtlander 21mm f4 P and 25mm f4 P (M mount) lenses....contact us now to be added to a waiting list.
21mm F4 VM P lens with hood (no Viewfinder) £190
25mm F4 VM P lens with hood (no Viewfinder) £185
Both lenses are rangefinder coupled, more information coming soon..."
I cannot believe those prices given the US equivalents. Bargaintastic. Great news about the M8 framelines, too. I sense this will become my standard lens!

are the newer versions significantly shorter than the old versions?
i just read on cvug that the zm 21 is gonna cut into the viewfinder quite a bit. i'd hate to spend that kind of money for a frustrating experience.
i wonder if the cv 21 would be a better choice?

Hey Joe,
I had the old 21/4, and I handled Tom A's new 21/4 pancake on the R4M this weekend. To my eyes, it was about the same size, or at least not noticeably smaller. Both have the same threaded round hood.
The new one is prettier, though, and has better ergonomics.
It protrudes very little into the R4M's beautiful viewfinder.
