do you flickr pro?

I'm on the edge of getting a flickr pro account. I know that I don't use flickr that much right now, but this is mostly due to restrictions (primarily the limit on sets) that would be alleviated by paying the $25 fee. Then again, I'm not sure if an unlimited number of sets would actually get me to upload more of my pictures.

Understanding mileage varies, have any of you gone pro and felt it was a waste of money?

i just went to the pro account and think it's worth it.
i set up more sets and started to organize my pics in them. and i like being able to upload more than 200 pics.

I have one and love it. There are a number of groups or communities there that can be fun and interesting.

I have been using it more so I to have a pro account. No complaints, I like the set up there.

I have one and think it's worth it. It's mainly used to upload 10mg TIFF files that I enjoy... sort of like an offsite backup.

I've been pro since they first offered Pro accounts, and I love it. I find it a great way to archive and share my photos, and I've developed great contacts around the world since I joined. Without Flickr, I never would have heard of the Angkor Photography Festival (which I went to last November in Siem Reap).

BTW, if you're there, please join the Rangefinder Cameras group (I started it). You'll see lots of familiar faces.

I've been a flickr pro member for a couple of years and think the $25 is worth it. There is a photo group that is an extension of rangefinderforum.com (not sure if it's official or not) that has lots of great RFF photos. http://flickr.com/groups/66333716@N00/

Big advantage now is that there is no monthly upload limit - I've archived all my stuff (and my father's) up there now...

I'm very happy with flickr. I joined as a pro right away, not knowing how much I'd enjoy it. I joined because I'd taken a job photographing a Quincanera celebration and needed to make the photographs available to the folks that attended the event.

I just got one.. I had been dropping hint to anybody who would listen to get one for my bday to no avail..

I had a regular flickr account with the idea it would be for sharing photos with family and friends, my RFF gallery more of a showcase of my photography.
After a member here casually mentioned he downloaded some of my flickr photos (there was no direct link in my signature so he had to go into my profile to find it) I kind of got creeped out. So I deleted the whole thing.
It's not such a problem that someone from here was looking at personal photos, but I realized I just shouldn't have posted that kind of stuff on the internet. There was nothing naughty in there, just happy snaps really, but it still made me feel weird.

I do flickr pro, its more convenient to rearrange my sets & photos. And it blows away the monthly upload limit. 🙂

That's one thing that creeps me out about flickr.. When other people list you as a contact. It's kind of odd in someways.. I keep a tight reign on what I have listed as public, private or for friends and family.

No matter what site you use, nothing is better than having your own website & portfolio. It is probably more challenging to build, but provides you with an unequalled, unique content & presentation of your work, the way you intend it.

I have had no time for this until now, that is why I'm kind of torn between flickr and deviantart. I've a very modest portfolio that i made myself, but nothing really interactive and/or exciting. And the photos are old!
