R-D1 refurbs discountinued

Don't worry, guys.

It's discontinued because now Epson will have to sell their refurbished R-D1s.

The refurbs have been discontinued, but the new ones which were recently in stock at Epson are now listed as Out Of Stock rather than discontinued.

Guess they are getting rid of the last of them. Dunno why they don't wholesale them out. Supposedly there are only 5000 of the 10,000 out there. Perhaps they only made the half-lot?

You guys hurry up and buy out all the refurbs, so I can get a R-D2. Maybe I'm dreaming or smoking some funny weed.

I don't have a lot of interest in the camera personally, but boy have I read a lot about it here and elsewhere...I think it's very likely there will be an R-D2, but it won't be called that and the name on the top will be "Voightlander."

I sure hope so.... I'm still surprised that Epson decided to market under the Epson branding. When people think of rangefinder / cameras, people think Leica, Voightlander, Canon, Nikon, etc.. not "Epson"... Scanners printers yeh.. but not rangefinders.
