Hi;
I have an old Voightlander Vitessa T that belonged to my grandmother and would like to know what lenses might fit this old rangefinder. Not being very familiar with this camera, what should I be looking for? Also, is there any particular place you would recommend that could service it for me? Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

back to basics
Isn't the Vitessa T the barndoor one with a fixed lens? Service depends greatly on where you are.

montaggio, here's a little bit of information about the camera and the lenses:
http://www.camerapedia.org/wiki/Vitessa_T
I am assuming you have the 50mm lens with the camera. These lenses do turn up on eBay from time to time; you can also check a place like keh.com to see if they have anything.
The camera has a selenium light meter that may not be working or accurate anymore. These can be repaired, but don't worry too much about it -- get a handheld light meter and use that.
As for general servicing of this camera, there are certain folks out there who work on them, but I'd start with essexcamera.com and find out how much they'd charge. They are usually able to work on any camera made. Probably this will cost you in the neighborhood of $130 for a proper servicing.
Good luck -- these are really fine cameras and I'm sure your grandfather would be pleased to know you're putting it back into service.

Thanks for the information. I'll check out the suggested sources and see if there are any other lenses available for it. It does currently have the 50mm lens on it, but I see from the old pamphlets with it that there were other lenses available. Need to get it serviced first. I remember the light meter working, but doesn't appear to be working now. Will look at getting that fixed. I remember my grandmother using this camera when I was a kid, so looking forward to using it again. She passed in 1975, and I haven't used it since probably 1980, so a good service is in order! Thanks again.

In case you need it, here's the manual online -- scroll down to find the Vitessa T: http://www.butkus.org/chinon/voigtlander_pdf/voigtlander_pdf_manuals.htm

I think that's the very pretty "L" model, Rob.
