Frank,
I'm going to light a candle for you, say a prayer and go down to my favorite camera store and buy something in your honor.
Best,

was not GAF the old ANSCO company?
ANSCO = Anthony Scovill & Co. a firm even older than Kodak.

Doug: My best wishes as well ....
but as long as you are radioactive, you should seek out lanthanum and other isotope-emitting lenses. And not just RF, the Zuiko 55/1.2 ages beautifully to a warm glow. What, no OM body to which you might fit it? Man, have I got a deal for you!!!

all the best to your health Doug.
LOL, thanks Roland, Xayraa, and Trius, but I do have an Olympus OM-G I paid $50 for, after I made the error of buying a Tokina 500mm mirror lens in OM mount that I thought could be changed to Pentax mount, compounding the mistake, so to speak! Well, it IS a nice little rig, though not of the same prestigeous lineage as the OM-1 etc.
None of my Pentax 50/1.4 or 105/2.4 lenses are showing any signs of yellowing, kinda disappointing! Thanks for the good wishes, and I may have to seek out lanthanum or thorium lenses -- to carry for therapeutic reasons of course. Boy, that's some shaky justifaction huh...

the Zuiko 55mm f 1.2 is a very nice lens, it was very expensive in 1976 but worth every penny.

Doug, I guess darkrom work is on hold for you, or can you wear a red filter?
Frank, that's a thought!
I'll examine the 4 rolls of color processing I just picked up to see if there's any signs of fogging... They said a pregnant woman shouldn't sit in my lap, and that a 6-foot separation for any fertile female would be sufficient indefinitely. That's not very cuddly.
On the brighter side, this isotope has a half-life of 60 days, so the effect fades pretty quickly.

There are no shaky justifications, only unjustified doubt in the mind. You DO need a single-digit OM, however, and a lens to go with it. Trust me on this.

Earl, I have 10 or 15 SLR's too many already! There's no sense selling them because they fetch such trivial amounts. I'll donate many of them to my daughter's high school next year if they're interested.

Frank: I was thinking of Doug needing an OM-single-digit ... are you trying to steal my sale?
You are quite right though ... film SLRs, even the good ones, seem to be declining in value. A few keep some value (Nikon F, OM, Pentax Spotmatic, etc.) ... basically the value is assigned to reliable, reparable mechanical models.

I am very fortunate, then, to have already a 1958 Pentax K, an H3, an SV, a Spotmatic, an ES, an ESII, a K2, a K2DMD, an MX, two ME-Supers, two LXs... and the Zuiko 135/3.5 and 50/1.8 for the OM-G (well, I had to be able to use it other than with the 500mm, right?).
Edit: Oh, and in regard to Olympi other than OM-G, I enjoy a Pen-FV and two FTs.
