28mm summicron deal of the century

well of course! your photos were better! :) congrats! that's a VERY nice turnaround!

:)

3 or 4 of those kind of deals a week and you can earn a nice income. :) First seller did a very poor presentation job, second seller was prepared to lie on customs form.

Wow! That original BIN was insane - I would have jumped on it and tried to figure out how to pay for it later.

should i have bought the lens and kept it, my post would have been "28mm summicron: first roll & impressions". that would have been niiiiice. :D

Sometimes a buy it now will crop up that is bizzarely cheap. I came by my M2 this way ... It was $650.00 BIN with an Elmar 50mm lens. The camera turned out to be virtually as new and the lens was much the same. I saw a similar kit go for $1300.00 a week or two earlier. I sold the lens to Frank for $250.00 as I already had one and the camera is probably now the pride of my fleet ... no way I'd sell it!

I also would have kept the lens, but I don't begrudge "budzeg" for re-selling it. $1151 is a lot of money.

Years ago I got a similar deal on my 35/1.4 Summilux ASPH from a camera store in the Midwest that was getting rid of their Leica inventory. The lens was new, came w/full USA Passport warranty, but the seller had no feedback because they had never sold anything on eBay before. I confirmed that they were an actual store by making a few phone calls & went ahead & made the minimum bid. This was before "Buy It Now," but since I was the only bidder, it had the same effect, as the lack of feedback apparently scared away everybody. I easily saved enough money to make up for what I had lost from having sold my 1st 35/2 Summicron ASPH a few months prior! ;)
