Hi everybody
I am looking for a 0,95 RF (in very good condition at a fair price ,in Leica thread
I prefer to buy from forum 's members .
Thank you all
Claude

Canon's RF cameras used the Leica screw mount, but their 50/0.95 -- and that alone, I think -- had a bayonet mount. There are conversions to M mount, but I do not know if a screw mount conversion will even be possible.

I concur with payasam.

Also, I remember reading somewhere that Canon made this lens with a bayonet mount because the weight of the thing would put too much stress on a thread mount.

And also because the rear element is so large that a section had to be cut out for the rangefinder cam, meaning that the lens can't be screwed in because the cam follower on the camera would damage the rear element.

That's a very good point, and a much better statement than mine!

No such animal..

As others have said the rear element is too large for screw mount attachment. This lens can only be converted to Leica M-mount.

Even if it could be converted it would block the rf windows of the Leica screw mount cameras because of its size..

Another practical consideration is the very small DOF of this lens. The small base RF in the Leica-style SM's wouldn't give the focusing accuracy needed.
When you realize the sheer size of the lens, it would look silly on something like a IIIf.... really.

I'm guessing the poster meant M mount. Those turn up on eBay occasionally, but a simpler option is to find a nice lens and have it converted at probably ~$250 cost. Don't be too tempted by the lower cost of the TV version, unless you have a good price on conversion. The TV version does not have either a RF cam nor the cut rear element, and would require possibly some extra cost to convert.
I'm not familiar with the M mount lens, so don't know what was done to it. I do know that a great many lenses seem to have been adapted, which kind of makes that old story of how poor the lens is look somewhat strange. If it was good enough for Leica shooters, how bad could it be.....

If you can find either a TV 0.95 or Canon bayonet mount 0.95 lens conversion to rangefinder coupled M-mount is $290 + $95 if the cameras mount needs to be shimmed to bring the lens into proper focus.
