Well, As I posted in the other thread - I'm in love with the Hexar RF!. After reading some info on the web, there was always one issue that kept bothering me - how well it works with Leica and other non-Konica lenses. Since I haven't any Hexanons, I had to try it for myself. Here are a few shots of what came out of it. Lenses used : ZM Planar 50/2 (mine) and 90/2.8 Fat TE Leica - belongs to the same person as Hexar RF.
Seems to me - and it's just after one 1 hour walk in the park - no focusing issues here. So it looks like I'll be getting the Hexar and possibly that fat black TE as well, as deal is too good to pass up.
All shots are taken wide open, handheld, on some print film and prints scanned on a flatbed. These are from Fat TE wide open om Hexar RF.

smooth and sharp!
Try hexanon 35mm when you have a chance, you'll love it too.

Nice shots! Well, that's it then - you've shamed me into taking my "dusty" Hexar out for a walk tomorrow

I'm glad - Haxar Rf should be out and about taking photos. It's a super great camera.

nice images there, george!
Well, it's not a question of "IF", but more so "when" I will get this cam, I'll take it with the black fat TE, as they make a nice "package" deal for me. Thats why I'm selling my M3 now. I know - it's a sin, but I'll have M6 to back me up. I just feel once Hexar is mine, Leicas will not see much use. Too bad, as both had CLA not too long back and work great.

Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if the flash that comes with the Hexar will work on an M8?

Keep your M3, it's much easier to focus the 90mm with the .91 finder rather than the .60 of the Hexar. You know that you can never have too many rangefinders!

While I agree, I really didn't have much difficulty with Hexar and 90mm lens and If I use a faster that 2.8 lens, I can use my M6 with .72x. So, really no real need for M3 anymore. Hexar for wider lenses and M6 for longer ones. - thats my plan here. Plus either can be used with any lens, really, to substitute eachother.Never Satisfied said:Keep your M3, it's much easier to focus the 90mm with the .91 finder rather than the .60 of the Hexar. Some nice sample shots there! Not surprised by the fat T-E, since I've had mine since new, and the Planar shots appear to have a very smooth pleasant look. Congrats on your forthcoming acquisition, and I hope it brings you a lot of fine pics!

Hexar RF is a great camera. I still end up using the M3 because of it's quiet shutter, 0.91 viewfinder, and it's non-existent (12ms?) shutter delay, compared to the Hexar's 90ms. I think it takes 100 ms to blink -- enough time to miss some shots, especially of children. Fantastic battery life and wonderful controls on the Hexar RF: great grip, easy loading, nice leatherette, and smooth shutter release. I really wish it had a shorter shutter delay. I also wish the M8 had been more like the Hexar RF.
