I got mine from HK via eBay. It works fine, except the tolerances on the threads aren't very tight, which requires some fiddling to get it on properly. Other than poor Chinese QC, it performs as advertised.

Hi Raid,

yes, I find the 90mm framelines on the CLE a bit small - I have the 1.35x magnifier from megaperls for my M4-P and like it alot - I held it up to the viewfinder of the CLE and I think it's a quite good view - I can still see the whole 40mm frame, and the 90mm lines look better.

I'm currently working on a way to fix the 1.35x mag on the CLE without modifying the CLE too much.

Received My HC 1.25 Magnifier today and it works very well . I can't imagine paying the ~270.00 for the Leica Brand. Good deal!
 
Would cellophane tape or sticky plasticine adhesive work as a temporary solution?

I use the 1.25 on a 0.72 M, but very rarely. I can't say I would be devastated if I lost it. It is helpful when shooting at wide apertures with the 50mm and higher lenses, but it is not exactly a pleasure to use as I am a glasses wearer. Also of course they are not so good in dark conditions as the vf image brightness is reduced (or more accurately, the brightness is the same but apparently reduced as the existing image is simply magnified). I got mine cheap so I am not disappointed with it. Personally I advise you to try it out before you buy to see if it is worth it for you.

In short: a good idea in principle, but less inspiring in actual use.

After receiving mine on Saturday, thats about how I'd describe it.

Completely unusable for 35mm frames (not too surprising) and more difficult than I expected for 50mm frames... and I don't wear glasses!
