Wow I never realized what eye relief I can get with this magnifier on my RD1. It just arrived today and boy can I focus well with this. The 28 frameline can not be seen at all but no problem with the 35 and 50. The adjustable diopter is a big plus as well. I'll try with the 90 and see if I can still focus it well. I'd be glad to see some comments from those who use this magnifier with their RD1.

I have one of the magnifiers on one of my R-D1's & its never coming off. I use it regularly with a 10.5cm f/2.5 Nikkor, wide open and close up. As long as I do my part & keep my eye centered I get very well focused photos. I'm going to put the Nikkor up on the shelf for a while while I fall in love (hopefully) with a 90mm Elmarit.
Love the magnifier!
Now i just need to get brave enough to add 90mm framelines as seen on Cutler's site.

I would love to purchase one for my R-D1s but can't seems to find one.
Can anyone tell me where I can get one?
Thanks,

John

The magnifier has been very useful for shooing the longer/faster lenses on the R-D1, as noted. It also fits on the Zeiss Ikon.

I brought one of these magnifier from japanese exposures, but they don't have a rubber guard and if you use eyeglasses, expect to scratch the hell out of them. Useless, so I sold it.

The one I brought at the time was a 1.15x for leica, does the one for the R-D1 have a rubber rim?

Buck, not sure about the M6 but with the RD1 I can still see the 35 frameline barely though. For the M6 I would think the 1.15 will be good as the EBL is longer than RD1.

I use 35/1.2 on M6, is it advisable to use mag 1.3x? can I still see the 35mm frame line?
