It would certainly be limiting, but If I had to, I'd go with an M7 0.85x, 50mm Summilux pre ASPH, Tri X and Rodinal.

Go Fish
- Leica M (a metered body would be nice)
- 1.4/35 Summilux-ASPH or another good 35
- Tri-X
- XTOL, because you can use it for normal development or push processing to 1250/1600asa
Me too, although a Rolleiflex with Tri-X and XTOL is a very close second.
Edit for Frank: I like using M bodies for the viewfinder, a 35mm f1.4 in 135 covers a wide range of conditions, and the same can be said for Tri-X and XTOL. I haven't tried XTOL with a Rodinal chaser yet, but at stock for pushing (thanks Honus for the tip), and 1+1 for everything else, its pretty good.

Camera/lens is easy:
OM-2n
Zuiko 28/2
Film is a little tougher...I guess I'd go with Tri-X and Diafine, but only if I am allowed to use filters for daylight photography. Otherwise Tri-X and D76.

The best camera is one that still works!
It's occured to me that this is just conjecture and whimsy ... so here is my alternate kit!

I'm assuming this is choice from gear we already own & not a wish list of what we wish we had so here goes: Without a doubt it would be my Canon AE1p. Why? because it's a camera given to me by my wife & it's special to me. I normally don't like zooms & only own one but it happens to be a good one. Canon 35-70 3.5-4.5 macro. Slow I know but covers a good range of focal lengths. I'd much rather give up speed. Film would definitely have to be a b&w so not to give up my darkroom so I choose Tri-X. As for a developer I haven't played around with much, D-76, HC-110, Perceptol, Microphen, Rodinal. I would have to do a bit of research but at the moment I'm thinking Rodinal would be the best all around developer.

I'd go for: Hexar RF, Planar 50/2 ZM, Neopan 1600 EI800 & HC-110 (h).

Nikon F100. Nikkor f35mm f/1.4 Manual focus
Why?
I do not own a MP and Summilux-M asph. 35mm f/1.4
film: Fujicolor Pro 400H (use to be branded as NPH)

oh, no gb. It is a wish list - I believe that camera-lens combo could cover 99% of my photo work in future - only film+developer from that list were in my hands. I'm big fan of one camera - one lens approachI'm assuming this is choice from gear we already own & not a wish list of what we wish we had ...
. Frank gave very creative idea - to put yourself in ascetic way of thinking to get 100% of creativity. In other words, I think that I am wide angle shooter - I prefer 28mm focal l. - dreaming about shooting with 21mm lens, but with 35mm f1.2 I can be on the magic wide angle edge - always in need to go wider, or to slow down and step back to use 100% of 35mm angle of view...

Summarit 50mm LTM f1.5
Ilford HP5+
D76 1+1
The lens is not so important in this equation, but it's the only Leica lens I own, other than the red scale Elmar that resides on my IIIf. I often use Canon 50mm f1.2 or a Jupiter-8.

A year ago I would have started my nominations with an M2, but now...
1. Pentax 67
2. SMC 105mm 2.4
3. TMAX 100
4. Rodinal 1:50

I try not to think much about the future. What I have now is a M2 & Model IId, with Nikkor & Canon 3.5cm lenses, both with FP4 in D76. I may sell the M2, donno.
It simplifies things a lot, since I really am just shooting snapshots.
I only have one tank, and I hope I don't have to give up the four reels for one.
I have five 50's that I'm not shooting, but I think I'll hold on to them for a while.
