10 Days with M9 in Cairo

Thanks for all the wonderful comments!

I also shot 7 rolls of Kodachrome 64 with an Xpan, just have to wait until I get those back in about 4 weeks, hope Dwayne's doesn't take a long holiday break!

I also made some audio recordings of street sounds, so at some point I will try to make a slideshow with audio.

Very nice pictures indeed. I was living in Egypt for about two years and have to say that you very well captured the mood of that area. As Egypt is a very busy place it is best if you wander around and take a lot of time for your photography. Then everybody will loose interest in yourself and you can freely shoot. Often people are even keen to pose as obvioulsy happend in your wonderful first image.

Regarding safety you do not need to be concerned. I never faced a problem. Robbery is not common as they easily rip you off legally on the market (just kidding).

Regards
Steve

PS: With your pictures in mind I am really looking forward to my stay in Egypt from end of 2010 until mid of 2012.

Hello Nick,
yes indeed fantastic shots, I agree to all the positive response from the others. Great capture of the atmosphere. Keep 'em coming ...

Very very enjoyable photos. Thanks for sharing. I admire your courage to take street photos in Cairo. I'll keep you in mind in February when I travel to Morocco.

thanks Nick for sharing us these photos. this M9 belongs to right hands!

wish I too have a chance see Cairo with my own eyes at some time, bookmarked your Wikitravel link for later.

Steve,
That could/will be an awesome stay for you!

I will make the best out of it. The only pity will be that I can devote the Friday's only to photography. But I already have a list of projects in mind. Egypt is a very diversive country apart from the cliches. The only thing I missed there is the Western lifestyle with clubs, bars and entertainment.

Regards
Steve
