I'm having a bit of a crisis... I have a freezer full of E-6 and c-41 MF film and I can't find an affordable place to get it souped. I live in Ottawa and the local "pro" lab wants $9 a roll for develop only... this is just plain ridiculous!!! Does anyone know of a lab in Ottawa that will do it for $5 or under? Or for that matter a lab in Canada I can mail it to for cheaper developing?

At $9 a roll I'm going to have to spend thousands developing the film I have... if I can't find a cheaper lab I think I'm just going to sell it all and stick to B&W and dunk at home like I'm doing now. I hear some of the guys here from the states saying they get it done for around $2 a roll... why can we not come close to that up north here.

I get my 120/220 processed at Ginn Photo. I don't know that anyone else does MF film.

If you are thinking of selling it, let me know what you have and pricing. I might be interested.

Walmart in Canada near you?

Walmart in Canada near you?

There were two rather extensive posts here on RFF regarding going to the Fuji kiosk at Walmart and filling out the "Send Out" only envelopes for medium format. Goes to Fuji, and may go out from Fuji depending on the Fuji lab it hits first. Search the forum for Walmart.

I do both E6 and C-41 this way. The C-41 I last did cost a total of $2.88 for the negs and 15 4X6 inch prints (Fuji covers the postage/shipping). My last roll of E6 sleeved and rolled cost me $4.88 and took 8 days.

In one of those posts, I elaborate with examples on how to fill out the "send out only" envelope.

Walmart does my MF. It generally takes 6-10 days to return.

I know there are many posts about certain Walmarts dropping film processing, but that's in individual stores. The medium format goes out for processing in all Walmarts, anyway. I talked with the photo lab manager locally and they will still continue to do "send out" processing. But, and a big one here, YOU have to know the steps involved. Hardly any of the store people know anything about how to arrange the medium format envelope. The delivery system works good.

weird... when I asked the Walmart here in Ottawa if they would send out 120 for processing they said they didnt do that anymore. I'm wondering if the girl at the counter just didn't know what she was talking about...I'll have to ask again next time.
