If I send 120 film in the send out box at Walmart, can I specify the print size like 3x3, 4x4 or 5x5. Or do they just come back 35mm size like 3x5? Let me know what you receive back when you send out 120 thru Walmart. Thanks

It's going to get sent out, so you might as well skip that route and go to a known photo processor that offers mail-order service.

That's my suggestion.

I just get index prints that are 2x2 or so if I'm not mistaken. I never did ask for prints actually, just to develop the film and they just gave those little ones as a bonus. I figure - I can scan film myself, - so no need for a bigger prints.

Move to Charlottesville, Virginia! We have a full-service professional film and camera shop here.😀

Just kidding. I do second ZeissFan's suggestion of using a mail-order processing service, rather than Wal-Mart to have your 120 film worked on. If they misplace it, I think you are SOL, big time. Most of the people who work at the photo section are OK with d*****l stuff, but clueless about film.

Just my $.02 worth.

With best regards,

To answer the question, i've tried to mark the envelope for larger size prints, but have always gotten the same size. I get c-41 develop and prints at wal-mart for $1.44. I just wish my local government would allow them to open a shop closer to me.

Your local government wants to protect you from such evil as fair prices 🙂

The saving is in the shipping.....

Yes, you could by pass Walmart and directly go to the end processor, which from my Walmart location is the Fuji processing lab, and if needed, on to Duanes from Fuji. In that case you will pay the postage both ways, which is a real hit.

Usinq Walmart "Send Out" envelopes often ends up at those processors, BUT, puts the shipping cost and handling on Walmart, both ways. Rated from 1.44 to 4.88 depending on chemistry process. Never over ten days for me from drop in the box to phone call from Walmart when back in the store.

The majority of the staff in the photo department know nothing about this process... Don't waste your time inquiring at the photo department. If you do, you won't send it.

It works flawlessly if you just don't talk to the staff except to pay. I do say "hi" to them when I drop film in the "Send Out Only" Fuji kiosk box.

Prints I get are usually 3X5, but vary. Don't frak with the system by requesting anything special. It just works. If you can't abide that hands off approach, just continue to pay $20 with all services where you now do your processing😀

I am talking strictly about 120/220 roll film here.

Yes, I use Walmart for all of my processing. Fuji/Dwayne's does a great job on everything. I'm sending the last of my Kodachrome to Dwayne's through Walmart. But, as stated above, sending 120 film through Walmart is the most cost effective way.

Geezum that is so ridiculously cheap. They must have slaves and process it in urine. $1.40 per roll? That's impossible.... it has to be lousy.

Really, the film comes back clean and properly processed?

If they goof up or lose your film is there any recourse?

Works great, beautifully processed - I use it all the time - no slaves, just fair market pricing. Walmart always tries to get the best deal for their customers.

Me happy....

No losses in over two years. The processing is professionally done, either at Fuji or Dwaynes. The product is never out of the envelope in your local Walmart.

Last time I sent a roll of 6X9 to ProPhotoSupply in Portland (150 miles), I purchased processing, sleeved negs, CD with scans (half of which were covered with dust specks in the scan, and postage both ways. Grand Total $24. Everything since then to Walmart. Have not tried to get scans however.

Get this...I just got a roll of 220 Velvia back from Walmart. Price? $0.90 🙂

Edit: Some more details.

Prices I get vary fairly widely from anywhere around $0.90 to $7.00, depending on the type of film. Even the same exact type of film will have different prices at times. For example, I got the $0.90 roll above and at the same time got a $2.80 for the same exact film. No reason as to why.

This past time I found out that they will not push/pull film. For me, it typically takes them about 2 weeks from my droppoff to me picking it up.
